Journal: Approaching Hiatus

On August 17 to 31 there will be an administrative hiatus due to summer holiday. During this time the Network will be running on automation, while every effort has been taken to preemptively mitigate potential disruptions, no statement of nonconditional futurity can be made. Automated backups will be made during this time.

Because of the hiatus, it is necessary for you to take a greater than average interest in self-management. Most of this has always been doable by you, however some recent technocratical policy changes have been made to empower additional actions.

Administration will not be able to offer you as much hands-on support as usual, you will have to avail yourself of our extensive helpdesk and Knowledge Base to solve any problems. The key to success with self-support is to perform a search.

If you need to contact administration to report a problem that is outside your ability to mitigate, it is necessary for you to follow problem reporting procedures exactly. To do this, you will have to fill out the electronic equivalent of the PR Worksheet. This step ensures that the maximum possible amount of necessary and relevant information is transmitted and stored.

A poster will be printed and made available reiterating the key points of this, and specifying key URIs for common problems and instructions. Instructions for mitigating the threat of lightening have also been produced.
