We are happy to announce that short on the heels of being declared insoluble, frontios's audio multiplexing problem has self-solved due to a software update that was installed this morning.

The problem prevented multiple applications from simultaneously accessing the sound hardware, something that Pulseaudio (see Support.Audio) was supposed to solve, and now does. Tests demonstrated simultaneous playback of a Youtube video, and two different pieces of music as well as a desktop notification sound.

Today also saw an attempt to fix the Intel Video Regression which was less successful, the attempt involved setting UXA mode, installing an experimental patch and enabling DRI and GLX. Unfortunately this not only did not fix the problem but made it worse, EXA mode has been resumed and DRI and GLX have been once-again disabled. We continue to await fixing of the Intel Video Regression.

Please notify us of any occurrences of the X-cursor hang or other aspects of the Intel Video Regression in the next few days, for quality assurance purposes.
