Journal: An Outside View on O.S. Upgrades

Frontios will not be upgraded to the latest version of its Linux distribution. We are actually evaluating several other Linux distributions, as well as possibly the deployment of non-Linux Unices such as FreeBSD and NetBSD.

Work will begin in earnest on this project next week.

Current administrative guidance is that laptops and user computers running Windows 7 not have Linux installed on them until further notice due to serious release engineering problems.
