Default Fonts for Vistua Workstations

What fonts are suggested for use with Vistua systems?

We recommend these fonts:

  • Clarendon
  • Gill Sans
  • Optima or Zapf Humanist or Vera Humanist
  • Helvetica or Swiss 721

VNS users can download these files from the groupware document server. You will be required to log in with your groupware user-name and password as some of these files are protected by copyrights and cannot be publicly distributed.

Note: Albertus, which is intermittently used on some Vistua documents is not included in this download. Albertus Medium (the weight used by us), as well as other weights and styles, can be purchased online from Adobe for about $30 each at the time of writing.

How to install the files

Extract the files from the archive, all the files in this archive are TTF files. In KDE select all the TTF files (control click or draw selection rectangle. Right click, select "Actions" → "Install".

When prompted click "Personal", unless you are the administrator, then click "System".

Already open applications will need to be restarted to detect the fonts.
