Firefox is a popular browser on UNIX, Windows and other operating systems.
Firefox and other browsers provide functions such as "history" and "bookmarks" for organizing URIs (termed "pages"). Firefox also provides "tab" functions which allow the organization of discrete pages as tabs in the user-interface, integrated search, "plug ins" and a sophisticated extension framework.
Firefox is very customizable and special extensions for modifying its appearance and behavior are available. Extensions are third-party packages which alter the appearance and behavior of the browser per the users wishes.
Regardless, Firefox is not without problems. It does not integrate very well into X11 desktops and technologies, it is also slow and crashes often. It is not actually as bad as certain other browsers though. Firefox also sometimes suffers from abnormal exiting which keeps it from reopening properly.
