This is a KB article about knowledge bases, not the KB Homepage.
Broadly speaking, a knowledge base (or K.B.) is any collection of knowledge, in principal physical libraries as well as cataloged information storage and retrieval systems both constitute knowledge bases. According the World Wide Web Consortium, semantization of XHTML will eventually convert the World Wide Web into a vast knowledge base called the "Semantic Web".
The term knowledge base most often refers to an electronic information storage and retrieval system which contains articles about closely related topics. The article you are reading is part of the Vistua Knowledge Base, a project of the Vistua online helpdesk.
The purpose of the Vistua K.B. is to create and organize articles relating to common software, situations and items relating to The Vistua Network System.
Many other organizations offer knowledge bases, sometimes for internal use and sometimes as a product help and support resource, For example Microsoft, Firefox and Apple all offer knowledge bases to help their users.
