NMBD is part of samba, samba is the service responsible for Sharespace, etc.
It is currently impossible to tell if this is a result of a problem with NMBD or Upstart. (Upstart is basically RC.D and INIT rolled into one for the technically inclined). Upstart should automatically initialize NMBD but for some reason this is not happening.

A partial fix has been committed. A cron job will now check hourly and make sure NMBD is started. Obviously if NMBD shuts down again (e.g. the system is reboots due to the Video Problems) this could result in a rather lengthy wait until the service restarts. -> http://twitter.com/vistua/status/15792661818
