We are experiencing major issues with the WLAN. Connections are dropping at random and cannot be re-raised.
The only solution to this problem is to reboot the router. Please follow these directions:
This action will cause any connections that haven't dropped, such as wired connections to drop. Activities such as uploads and downloads would be disrupted on affected systems.
Not every little navigation error is caused by a fault with the router. Do not reboot the router for other problems. Only reboot the router if there is a sustained inability to reconnect to the internet/local network.
- Look at the back of the antenna-box, you will see three cables, one blue, one white, one black. The blue and white cables are thick and have "ethernet" connectors which look like oversize phone jacks. The black cable is the power cable and is much thinner. (Consult picture at right.)
- Remove this cable by grasping the connector firmly and pulling it straight out, leave the other cables alone. Do not pull by the wire.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Reinsert this connector.
- Wait until the following lights come on:
- The standard "line and circle" power light (solid)
- The "4" light (solid)
- The antenna icon (blinking)
- The "i" with a swoosh (blinking)
- Attempt to reconnect your device to the Wifi/ethernet (this may occur automatically).
