The current Video Problem
The current video problem is random "crashes" characterized by flashing black and white vertical lines on the top-half of the screen, with brief fragments of text (assumedly from the TTY) visible.
Logging
We have concluded the survey of this problem. The survey indicates that the problem is totally random and is not provoked by any specific action. The survey seems to indicate that the problem happens almost exclusively while the system is in use from the physical console.

Administration has determined that the most likely solution to this problem is to replace the video card with a different make and model. A part has been ordered and you will be informed of the results.
